Risk everything or sit forever with ones dreams

“There comes a time when one must risk everything or sit forever with ones dreams.”

“Have patience.  All things are difficult before they become easy.”
“Figure out what your purpose is in life, what you really and truly want to do with your time and your life; then be willing to sacrifice everything and then some to achieve it.  If you are not willing to make the sacrifice, then keep searching.” - Quintina Ragnacci
Spend extravagantly on the things you love,
and cut costs mercilessly on the things you don’t.

I want to be a part of it - New York, New York

Start spreading the news,
I'm leaving today.
I want to be a part of it -
New York, New York.
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And step around the heart of it
New York, New York.
I want to wake up in a city,
That doesn't sleep,
To find I'm king of the hill -
Top of the heap.
 My little town blues
Are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it
In old New York.
If I can make it there,
I'd make it anywhere
It's up to you,
New York, New York.

Live Life Fearlessly

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs.  Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go and do that.  Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
"I have lots of things to prove to myself.
One is that I can live my life fearlessly.”
“There is nothing you can buy, achieve, own, or rent
that can fill up that hunger inside for a sense of fulfillment and wonder.”
“You will never find time for anything. You must make it.”

Say What You've Got To Say & Say It Hot

“Be still when you have nothing to say;
when genuine passion moves you, say what you’ve got to say and say it hot.”

“Life’s battles don’t always go to the strongest or fastest man,
But sooner or later the man who wins is the fellow who thinks he can.”
“Luck? I don't know anything about luck.
I've never banked on it and I'm afraid of people who do.
Luck to me is something else:
Hard work - and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't.”

New York City Christmas

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
(War is Over, if you want it, war is over now)
For weak and for strong
The rich and the poor ones
The road is so long
So happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

Lucky

What you leave behind
is not what is engraved in stone monuments,
but what is woven into the lives of others.
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

Faith

L'amor che move il sole e l'altre stelle.
[The love that moves the sun and the other stars]
"You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That's the only thing you should be trying to control."
"Faith is walking face-first and full-speed into the dark. If we truly knew all the answers in advance as to the meaning of life and the nature of God and the destiny of our souls, our belief would not be a leap of faith and it would not be a courageous act of humanity; it would just be... a prudent insurance policy."
